Standard Liege have announced the loan signing of Victor Valdes, subject to a successful medical.

The Manchester United goalkeeper will spend the rest of the season in Belgium after being completely frozen out under Louis van Gaal at Old Trafford.

Valdes' United deal is up in the summer and he tweeted a goodbye message earlier this week after just two appearances in 12 months

"Thank you all for your support during these months of hard work for me," the 34-year-old wrote. "I will never forget!".
