Watford forward Odion Ighalo has signed a new five-year contract which will keep him at Vicarage Road until at least 2020.

The Nigerian international forward signed for the Hornets on a season-long loan deal from Udinese in the summer of 2014.

But that move was converted into a permanent deal in October after Ighalo made an impressive start to life in English football.

The 26-year-old went on to play a key role as Watford secured promotion from the Championship, finishing with 20 goals from 22 league starts.

And he has already opened his Premier League account, scoring a fine individual goal during Watford's 2-2 draw at Everton on the opening day of this season.

Ighalo has now committed his long term future to the Hornets, who are just outside the relegation zone after taking three points from their first four matches back in the top flight.
