Bournemouth full-back Charlie Daniels and Swansea centre-back Alfie Mawson have become the first English players to sign up to Juan Mata’s Common Goal campaign.
The initiative was set up to boost football-rated charities, with players who join the scheme committing one per cent of their wages to the campaign.
Germany's Mats Hummels and Italy's Giorgio Chiellini are among the high-profile players to have already signed up and they have now been joined by two players from the Premier League.
"It just seems right that our national sport gives something back to society," said Cherries left-back Daniels.
"If my pledge can help spread the idea of Common Goal, especially among the younger players, then it will be one of the proudest achievements of my career."
Mawson, a member of the England squad that reached the semi-final of this summer's European U21 Championships in Poland, has also pledged his financial support.
The 23-year-old spent time on loan at Maidenhead and Welling earlier in his career ahead of his progression through the professional ranks, something which has helped him appreciate how lucky he is and inspired him to do something positive to help others.
"It was only a few years ago that I was playing non-league and helping out my dad at weekends with his market stall," he said.
"Common Goal allows me to focus on my career while forming part of something that can really help transform lives of those less fortunate."
