Pep Guardiola held animated conversations with David Silva, John Stones and Willy Caballero on the pitch after Manchester City's win over Sunderland on Nissan Super Sunday.
The City head coach, who memorably coached Joshua Kimmich in the centre circle following a Bayern Munich draw last season, spoke to Silva, Stones and Caballero after City's 2-0 victory before urging his players to salute their supporters.
He appeared to be frustrated at the full-time whistle and after the match told Sky Sports his side "forgot to attack" after scoring their second goal.
"We misunderstood the last 35 minutes at 2-0 when we were in control. We forgot to attack and it can be so dangerous if they score a goal," Guardiola said.
Sergio Aguero and Leroy Sane were on target in either half to send Guardiola's side up to third in the Premier League table, eight points behind leaders Chelsea.
They face Stoke in the league on Wednesday, live on Sky Sports, before back-to-back cup fixtures against Middlesbrough in the FA Cup quarter-final and Monaco in the second leg of their Champions League last-16 tie.
City then return to league action with an exceptionally tough run of games, with the visit of Liverpool followed by trips to Arsenal and Chelsea.
