Manchester City and Chelsea have been fined by the FA for failing to control their players during an ill-tempered clash at the Etihad Stadium on December 3.

Following an Independent Regulatory Commission hearing, City were fined £35,000 and Chelsea £100,000 after both admitted a breach of FA Rule E20(a).

The two clubs were charged for failing to ensure their players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion and/or refrained from provocative behaviour.

The incident occurred after Chelsea players were involved in a brawl with their opponents following a tackle on David Luiz by Sergio Aguero in the 95th minute of Chelsea's 3-1 victory.
