Swansea welcome Sunderland to the Liberty Stadium for a huge relegation clash on Saturday afternoon.

Bob Bradley's side prop up the Premier League table having taken nine points from their opening 14 matches, most recently losing 5-0 to Tottenham.

Sunderland, meanwhile, are enjoying their best spell of the season, with their 2-1 victory over Leicester last weekend their third win in four games.

The Black Cats, two places above Swansea, can move out of the relegation zone with three points this weekend, and Swans boss Bradley admits it's vital his side start beating the teams around them.

"I am going to keep fighting," he said. "That's how I work.

"Now we have to turn it around. We have to step on the field to play against a team who are around us in the table and look to win.

"For sure, this feels like the biggest game since I came in."

Swansea are again without Ki Sung-yueng and Federico Fernandez for the Premier League basement clash.

South Korean midfielder Ki has missed the last two games with a broken toe, while Argentina defender Fernandez suffered a similar injury before last weekend's 5-0 defeat at Tottenham.

Leon Britton, Wayne Routledge and Fernando Llorente are all in contention to return for a Liberty Stadium game, which has taken on extra importance for the under-fire Bradley after the Spurs debacle.

Sunderland boss David Moyes has to decide on who should replace Duncan Watmore for Saturday's clash.

Watmore will miss the rest of the season with cruciate knee ligament damage and the likes of Wahbi Khazri, Seb Larsson and Adnan Januzaj are all vying to take his place.

Fabio Borini (groin) may also play some part for the first time since August but Lee Cattermole (hip), Jack Rodwell (hamstring) and Paddy McNair (knee) remain on the casualty list.

Swansea have only lost one of their last eight Premier League matches against Sunderland, though that was this exact fixture last January (W2 D5).

David Moyes has never lost in the Premier League against Swansea, winning five of his six games against them (W5 D1 L0).

Jermain Defoe has scored five times in three Premier League games against Swansea for Sunderland, including a hat-trick the last time the sides met in January.

Defoe has scored 24 Premier League goals in the month of December - only Wayne Rooney (31), Robbie Fowler (33) and Alan Shearer (39) have more.

Since the start of last season, Defoe has scored 14 goals in 22 Premier League appearances away from home, averaging a goal every 130 minutes on the road.

This is Swansea's worst start to a Premier League season after 14 matches (nine points) and is five points fewer than they had at this stage in 2015-16 (14).

Only three players have scored a Premier League goal for Sunderland this season: Defoe (8), Victor Anichebe (3) and Patrick van Aanholt (2) - every other side have had at least five different goalscorers.

Swansea City have allowed their opponents a league-high 11 attempts from fast breaks, with two of these resulting in goals.

Since Bradley took charge of the Swans on October 3rd, they have conceded the most goals in the Premier League (19).

Sunderland have won three of their last four Premier League matches (W3 D0 L1) - their previous three league wins came over a period of 22 games (W3 D9 L10).

Merson's prediction

The biggest football match of the weekend.

If Sunderland win they will move out of the bottom three and put further distance between themselves and Swansea, who would be in danger of being cut adrift.

Both teams will have highlighted this as three points, but I think we get an entertaining Desmond.

PAUL PREDICTS: 2-2 (Sky Bet odds 12/1)

Betting

Swansea are favourites at 21/20 with Sky Bet as they take on Sunderland at the Liberty Stadium. The Black Cats have experienced an upturn in form in recent weeks, winning three of their last four, and can be backed at 5/2 to return to the north east with all three points.

They won 4-2 in the corresponding fixture last season and can be backed at 80/1 for a repeat, while perhaps slightly more realistically it's 7/2 for Sunderland to win 1-0, 2-0 or 2-1 in the correct score group betting.
