Dimitri Payet is not sure Paul Pogba is worth £85m but believes whoever buys the midfielder will be getting an exceptional player.

Sky in Italy say Manchester United have had an £85m bid for their former player rejected by Juventus and Payet is well accustomed with Pogba after a summer playing alongside him for France in Euro 2016.

Speaking to RTL, Payet questioned whether any player is worth such a mammoth sum, but insisted the 23-year-old will be a massive success wherever he goes.

"All I know is that Pogba is an exceptional player," he said.

"Exceptional players attract this kind of club so everything is possible.

"The problem today is that good players are expensive. Unfortunately that's the way the market is. We, the players, can do nothing about it."

He added: "I can't tell you if Pogba is worth that price today but all I know is that he's an exceptional player.
