Leicester 2-2 West Ham: Was Jamie Vardy red right? Should Robert Huth have won a penalty?

By Thierry Henry, Football Expert @ThierryHenry

Watch the moment Leicester were awarded an injury-time penalty which was to earn them a crucial 2-2 draw against West Ham

Referee Jon Moss was the centre of attention at the King Power Stadium on Sunday as Leicester snatched a late 2-2 draw with West Ham.

In an action-packed second half, the referee showed Jamie Vardy a second yellow card for diving, awarded West Ham a penalty for a foul on Winston Reid and then gave Leicester a spot-kick in the fifth minute of injury-time.

He also waved away appeals for a penalty when Robert Huth appeared to be fouled by Angelo Ogbonna in the box.

With the help of Super Sunday pundits Thierry Henry and Emile Heskey, we review all the key incidents and whether the referee made the right calls...

Incident: Vardy booked for a sliding tackle on Kouyate

Henry's verdict: "I think it was very soft. We know he is going to chase everything and put his foot in, but he doesn't make any contact in the tackle. When he slides it's nothing, it should have been just a foul. I don't think it's a yellow."

Henry's verdict: "All season he has been trying to win penalties. I think he dived in a clever way. He put his leg into the legs of Ogbonna and tried to get a penalty. He thought Ogbonna was going to make a tackle but he didn't. I don't think it's a penalty. Why didn't he just concentrate on finishing the chance with his left foot? The angle was a bit against him but we are not sure why he didn't try."

Incident: West Ham awarded a penalty after Morgan tussles with Reid

Henry's verdict: "Huth and Morgan had been warned and told if they do it again then a penalty will be given. Maybe it was the softest one, but it's not about how they fouled Reid in the situation, it's because of the repetition. Morgan found himself behind Reid and I don't think it's a huge foul, but it was the repetition."

Heskey's verdict: "Wes lost Reid and pulled him. No complaints really, I could see it would be given."

Incident: No penalty as Ogbonna grapples with Huth in the box

Henry's verdict: "I think if you compare this incident with the one that was given for West Ham then you can say it looks like a similar foul, but it's not really clear. It could have been a penalty, but the difference between this one and the West Ham one was Ogbonna got away with it just like Huth and Morgan had done previously. Ogbonna had not been warned yet, the referee let two go for Leicester and talked to them, he hadn't yet spoken to Ogbonna."

Heskey's verdict: "It's a difficult one because when you have warned someone you focus on that team and that player, but you are not focusing on the other side. I don't think the referee was looking out for it, but he was looking at Wes and Huth for an incident."

Incident: Leicester awarded penalty for challenge by Carroll on Schlupp

Heskey's verdict: "I think what happened at the other end did influence this. I think it was given more because of the angle the referee was at rather than the foul. I'm not sure it was particularly a foul, it's a coming together."

Henry's verdict: "If that happens in midfield everybody blows the whistle for a foul, but in the box people try to say it's different. I don't think it's a penalty because it's really shoulder to shoulder, if it's in the back then maybe. Maybe the pressure of blowing up for a penalty earlier, then not giving another one, and the fact everybody now respects Leicester, you get your reward and get those type of penalties, like they used to get back in the day at United…"
