Manchester United and Liverpool combined XI, according to Sky Sports Power Rankings

We've used the season accumulative Sky Sports Power Rankings to create a Manchester United and Liverpool combined XI ahead of their blockbuster clash this Saturday...

Unsurprisingly, United 'keeper David de Gea claims the No 1 jersey with more than three times the number of Power Ranking points as Liverpool's top stopper Loris Karius.

How do the Power Rankings work?

The Power Rankings methodology reflects a player's performance over the last five matchdays by awarding points to players for 32 different stats.

The back four comprises of three United players, with Antonio Valencia, Ashley Young and Chris Smalling partnering Liverpool's Dejan Lovren.

Based on current form, Liverpool's January signing Virgil van Dijk would have made the cut - but Lovren ousts Van Dijk after the Dutchman missed several games during the early stages of the season at Southampton.

In midfield, Liverpool's Emre Can makes the XI ahead of Nemanja Matic, either side of team-mate Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and United's Paul Pogba.

Liverpool dominate the frontline, too, with Roberto Firmino edging ahead of Romelu Lukaku, either side of team-mate Mohamed Salah and United's Alexis Sanchez - with the latter boosted from performances at his former club Arsenal.
