So who's top of the class? And who's being held back for detention? Premier League Daily guest Cottee takes us through his weekend grades...

Crystal Palace - A

It was a great performance to go to West Brom and win the game 2-0. I've been saying for a while that there's enough quality and strength in depth there to stay up.

Obviously they've had problems defensively but that's what Sam Allardyce is good at. You can't always just walk into a club, wave a magic wand and make everything better. Sometimes it takes time and that's what he's doing. But they're not out of danger yet.

Liverpool - A

Liverpool are so frustrating. They were outstanding against Spurs and dreadful at Leicester. I didn't know what to expect from them against Arsenal but they were fantastic again, blowing them away in the first half.

But they can't just keep doing it in the big games, they've got to get the points against the likes of Burnley, who they play on Sunday. If they can do that then we can start talking about them being a top-four team again.

Manchester City - A

They've been in sensational form recently and didn't concede after problems recently with the goalkeeper and defensively. They kept it tight at the back and going forward they have incredible talent.

Sergio Aguero is back getting the goals, he's been absolutely fantastic and done everything right after being dropped.

Leicester - A-

It was a good performance by Leicester, and I would have given them an A if they hadn't conceded. Craig Shakespeare and their players deserve credit for the response since Claudio Ranieri left the club to get six points out of two difficult games. It gives them a real chance of staying up now.

Tottenham - A-

Another great display at home by Spurs. They needed the opening goal from Harry Kane but after that they were excellent. They're another team who would have had an A if they hadn't conceded the two goals, which was a bit of sloppy defending.

The pressure was on to get the result after Liverpool won, and also to keep up the chase on Chelsea.

Southampton - B+

It was a great response after the disappointment of the EFL Cup final, which quite easily could have seen their heads go down. But they didn't and they went to Watford and played really well. Scoring four goals away from home is never easy.

Bournemouth - B

Going to Old Trafford in any circumstances and getting a draw is a good result, but to do it with 10 men for so long shows outstanding commitment from the players. They were edging down the table and they needed the morale boost from this game.

Stoke - B

Middlesbrough aren't the most exciting of teams but are hard to break down, so Stoke deserve credit for getting those two goals and could have had one or two more. It was a big win for them and they're in the top 10, as they always are under Mark Hughes.

Swansea - B

They've done really well, especially to come from 2-1 down and after the controversial penalty. Paul Clement has done a great job since coming in and they've had a really good run of form. He's not only given them the confidence to go out and play but he's also getting the service into Fernando Llorente.

Burnley - C

Burnley's dreaded away form strikes again. You do feel they're going to get three points on the road at some point, they're trying hard enough. They scored two goals but defensively they haven't stopped the crosses going in, and they paid the penalty with the result.

Hull - C

I've given Hull a C, which probably sums up their season. I've watched them quite a lot and they play good football, but didn't seem to get the luck on Saturday. They just don't score enough goals and sadly I think they're going down.

Manchester United - C

I was disappointed with Manchester United. There was no lack of effort but when Bournemouth went down to 10 men you'd think they were going to come out all guns blazing in the second half, but it didn't really happen.

They didn't create enough and it's happened too many times to United this year, they've dropped too many points at home.

Sunderland - C

It could have been a different story for Sunderland if Jermain Defoe's early effort had gone in. After that, though, Manchester City controlled the game and it was more like a training match than a competitive one.

I've said all along they might stay up because of Defoe, but it looks like they're running out of time.

Watford - C

If you score three goals at home you've got to win the game, but they're very inconsistent and they've been like that for a while. Just when you think they've turned a corner they end up dropping back, which must be frustrating for the players and the manager.

West Brom - C

West Brom weren't at the races against Palace. It's hard to be too critical after the season they've had, even though it's a home defeat. They were probably due a blip and Tony Pulis said they didn't play well as individuals or as a team.

There's a risk of them turning off now they've got their 40 points, and it will be interesting to see how many points they can get between now and the end of the season.

Everton - D

I was a bit baffled by Ronald Koeman playing the three holding midfielders and it didn't really work for them. It left Romelu Lukaku very isolated and they didn't really create anything.

Overall it was a disappointing performance by Everton, especially off the back of so many good ones.

Arsenal - D-

The only reason it's not an E is because Alexis Sanchez came on at half-time and changed it a bit for them. I can't understand for the life of me what Arsene Wenger was thinking starting him on the bench.

Arsenal were really poor in the first half, I look at that team and it's not a team that will win the Premier League any time soon. It's an evolving situation there which is unravelling a lot, and a lot of it revolves around the manager. If I was an Arsenal fan I'd be pulling my hair out.

Middlesbrough - E

Even when Middlesbrough were losing at Stoke I didn't see any changes made by Aitor Karanka to try and help the situation. All the subs were like for like and that can be really frustrating.

They would take 17th without a doubt, but there's a three-point gap now and there was no reaction. If you're losing 2-0 you might as well go for it, but sadly I don't think that was the case.
