It was not just in the Premier League that there were interesting comings and goings during the January transfer window.
There were a host of eye-catching deals elsewhere in Europe, including Patrice Evra's return to France with Marseille and Real Madrid prodigy Martin Odegaard's loan move to Holland.

Patrice Evra (Juventus to Marseille, free transfer)
Evra looked destined for a return to the Premier League with Crystal Palace, but the former Manchester United left-back eventually opted to swap Juventus for Marseille instead. "As soon as I heard Marseille were making an offer, I didn't hesitate," he said.
Martin Odegaard (Real Madrid to Heerenveen, loan)
Norwegian wonderkid Odegaard is aiming to get his career back on track having left the bright lights of Real Madrid for an 18-month loan deal at Heerenveen. A player once regarded as the world's hottest young talent will be one to watch in the Dutch Eredivisie.
Julian Draxler (Wolfsburg to PSG, £34m)
Draxler ended speculation about a possible move to Arsenal when he signed for French giants Paris Saint Germain at the start of January. The Germany international, who had spent the previous 18 months at Wolfsburg, signed a four-and-a-half year contract at the Parc des Princes.
Jese (PSG to Las Palmas, loan)
Draxler's arrival at PSG pushed Jese further down the pecking order. The former Real Madrid winger only joined the Ligue 1 giants in the summer, but sealed a loan move to hometown club Las Palmas having struggled to make an impact in the French capital. His return to the Bernabeu on March 1 is one for the diary.
Alexander Isak (AIK Solna to Borussia Dortmund, £8.6m)
There was a frenzy of excitement surrounding Isak, a 17-year-old Swedish striker who has already been compared to Zlatan Ibrahimovic. It appeared Real Madrid had won the race for his signature, but Borussia Dortmund convinced him that the Westfalenstadion was the best place for his development.
Simone Zaza (Juventus to Valencia, loan)
After his miserable loan spell at West Ham was terminated midway through the season, Juventus striker Zaza agreed to spend the second half of the campaign at Valencia. The Spanish side will be hoping he can rediscover his scoring touch as they battle against relegation in La Liga.
Ryan Babel (Deportivo La Coruna to Besiktas, free transfer)
Former Liverpool winger Babel impressed for Deportivo in the first half of the season with five goals in 12 appearances, but signed a two-and-a-half year deal with Turkish outfit Besiktas after reaching the end of his short-term deal at the Spanish club on New Year's Day.
Stevan Jovetic (Inter Milan to Sevilla, loan)
Jovetic joined his former Manchester City team-mate Samir Nasri on loan at Sevilla from Inter Milan. The 27-year-old forward had fallen out of favour at the San Siro, but he has already scored three goals in four appearances for La Liga's surprise title contenders.
Holger Badstuber (Bayern Munich to Schalke, loan)
Bayern Munich defender Badstuber emerged as a loan target for his former manager Pep Guardiola at Manchester City, but opted for Schalke instead. The 27-year-old, who has been plagued by injuries in recent seasons, reportedly felt staying in the Bundesliga was the safer bet.
Dayot Upamecano (Reb Bull Salzburg to RB Leipzig, £9m)
Defender Upamecano swapped one Red Bull-owned club for another as he joined Bundesliga outfit RB Leipzig. The 18-year-old had previously attracted interest from some of Europe's top clubs, with Arsenal reportedly taking an interest in him.
