Mauricio Pochettino pays tribute to Emiliano Sala

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino has paid tribute to missing Argentine compatriot Emiliano Sala.

Sala was on board an aircraft which disappeared from radar near the Channel Islands on Monday evening, three days after he completed his transfer from Nantes to Cardiff.

The search for the plane is now a recovery operation, the Channel Islands Air Search has said.

When asked about Sala in his pre-match press conference ahead of Tottenham's Carabao Cup semi-final second leg against Chelsea, Pochettino said all his love was with the player.

"I know him but I never met him," Pochettino said. "Of course, from yesterday, it was very shocking. When you receive news like this you realise that life can change very quickly.

"I want to send all my love and positive energy to his family. Also for Argentina, Nantes, the family in France and of course Cardiff. My wish and my hope is to wait for some good news."
