The younger brother of Naby Keita is training at Liverpool's academy, Sky Sports News understands.
The younger Keita, whose nickname is Petit, has been taking part in sessions at the club's facilities in Kirkby after leaving German fifth division club Inter Leipzig.
However, Sky sources understand he is not officially on trial with the Reds.
Older brother Naby has made eight appearances for Liverpool since completing his move from RB Leipzig in June.
However, the 23-year-old has been sidelined since suffering a hamstring injury while on international duty with Guinea earlier this month.
Keita missed the 4-0 win over Red Star Belgrade on Wednesday but Jurgen Klopp says the midfielder is making progress in his recovery.
"Naby is in a good way already," said Klopp. "He's outside running and all that stuff. So we'll have to see.
"We take it now day by day. We cannot put any pressure on that, we have to see when he is fully fit.
"It should not be that long anymore."
