Sunderland have turned down a second bid from Brighton for midfielder Paddy McNair - this time for £3.5m, Sky Sports News understands.
The Premier League club failed with a £2m bid for the 23-year-old earlier this week.
In addition, Sunderland have turned down an offer of £3.75m for McNair, this time from an unnamed London club.
It is understood Sunderland are looking for upwards of £4m for the player.
McNair made 18 appearances and scored five goals last season as Sunderland were relegated from the Championship.
The Northern Ireland international broke into Manchester United's first team in 2014, making 24 Premier League appearances.
McNair made his international debut in 2015 and was part of Michael O'Neill's squad that reached the last 16 at Euro 2016.
