Burnley will pay Brentford £500,000 after James Tarkowski made his England debut against Italy on Tuesday, Sky Sports News understands.
A number of clauses linked to international achievements were inserted into Tarkowski's contract when the defender moved from west London to Lancashire in 2016.
Brentford are due £1m per competitive England start and £500,000 per sub appearance.
The Championship club are also due £500,000 per friendly start and £250,000 per sub appearance.
Burnley's payments to Brentford will be capped at £1m regardless of the combination of clauses the 25-year-old activates.
Another former Brentford defender Alfie Mawson was named in the England squad against Italy at Wembley on Tuesday, but the Bees are not due any payments from Swansea nor former club Barnsley.
