Matt Ritchie's 65th minute goal was enough to give Rafa Benitez's side the victory at St James' Park, and left Man Utd 16 points behind local rivals Manchester City in the Premier League table.
The win was Newcastle's first at home since October 21 and moves them out of the relegation zone into 13th place, with the game seeing a superb debut for Magpies goalkeeper Martin Dubravka.
Neville praised the performance from Newcastle and discussed their chances of surviving the drop, as well as how Man Utd can improve under Jose Mourinho.
