Each week, we will be taking a look back at some essential stats from the EFL. With League One and Two teams on FA Cup duty over the weekend, here are stats and facts from the Sky Bet Championship...
Sunderland's unwanted record
Sunderland's 1-0 defeat to Middlesbrough on Sunday has left them with just 10 points from their opening 16 Championship games - the lowest-ever points tally by a team relegated from the Premier League at this stage of the season.
Caretakers Billy McKinlay and Robbie Stockdale were in charge following Simon Grayson's sacking last Tuesday, but couldn't prevent Sunderland going 14 games without a win the Championship. During the run - which stretches back to a defeat of Bristol City - Sunderland have picked up only six points from a possible 42.
This is the first time Sunderland have ever gone 14 successive leagues games without a win in the second tier and they are the only side in the EFL without a clean sheet this season.
The Black Cats lie at the foot of the Championship and are currently in their lowest league position since August 2006. Swindon and Wolves are the only two sides to have suffered successive relegations from the Premier League - Sunderland fans will be hoping they don't join them on that list.
Blades looking sharp
Sheffield United moved up to second in the Championship table after their 4-1 comeback win over Hull at Bramall Lane on Saturday. They've now won 10 of their last 13 Championship games and seven of their eight home league games this season.
Leon Clarke scored all four Blades goals, with all of them coming in the second half - doubling his tally for the season to eight. He became the first player to score four goals in a Championship match since Odion Ighalo for Watford against Blackpool in January 2015. He also became the first Sheffield United player to score four goals at Bramall Lane since Keith Edwards versus Gillingham in August 1983 in the old Division 3.
Brentford's unbeaten run goes on
Brentford beat Leeds 3-1 at Griffin Park on Saturday, stretching their unbeaten run to nine in the league - the current longest unbeaten run in the Championship. Ollie Watkins missed a 44th minute penalty for the Bees; it was Brentford's 14th penalty miss from their last 29 taken since August 2013, no other English league side has missed more league penalties in the last four years.
Bravo Bonatini
Table-toppers Wolves beat Fulham 2-0 at Molineux on Friday, their fifth win in six games. The Championship's top scorer Leo Bonatini scored his 10th league goal of the season and became the first Wolves player in 30 years to score in six successive league games since Micky Holmes in the old Division 4 between January and March 1987.
Forest reign over R's again
Nottingham Forest beat QPR 4-0 at the City Ground last Saturday. Forest have never lost a home game against QPR in 34 games in all competitions stretching back to the first meeting in January 1934. QPR set a new Football League record for most away matches played at a single club without winning, 29 league games - beating Grimsby's previous record of 28 league games without a win at Blackburn.
Reading on target
Reading won 4-2 at Derby on Saturday, their sixth win in their last nine visits to Pride Park. Reading have scored seven goals in their last two league games - they had scored only six in their previous eight games. This was Derby's first defeat in eight Championship games.
