Celtic have set a new British record by going 63 domestic matches unbeaten - beating their own mark which stood for 100 years.

Willie Maley's Celtic side went 62 games unbeaten between 1915 and 1917 but Saturday's 4-0 win over St Johnstone ensured Brendan Rodgers' men replaced them in the record books.

Here, we look at seven other teams that enjoyed impressive unbeaten runs.

Steaua Bucharest

Celtic have a long way to go to match the Romanians, who embarked on a period of unprecedented domestic supremacy after winning the 1986 European Cup.

A team featuring Marius Lacatus and Gheorghe Hagi went on a 119-match unbeaten run in the league and cup until 1989.

They also reached another European Cup final and semi-final during the period but lost out to city rivals Dinamo in the 1990 title race.

Lincoln Red Imps

Celtic lost to the Gibraltarian minnows just one match into their current domestic run, a shock 1-0 Champions League qualifying defeat coming in the first game of Brendan Rodgers' reign.

But the Red Imps were no strangers to victory. In the midst of a run of 14 consecutive titles, they went 88 league games unbeaten between May 2009 and September 2014, although they lost twice in the Rock Cup during that period.

AC Milan

Arrigo Sacchi and Fabio Capello were both at the helm during a run of 58 unbeaten Serie A games between 1991 and 1993, on their way to three successive titles. Milan won the 1994 Champions League after their run came to an end.

Arsenal

Arsene Wenger's side did not lose in 49 league matches between May 2003 and October 2004, when they suffered a 2-0 defeat by Manchester United at Old Trafford.

They clinched the Premier League title in 2004 without losing a game with the help of defender Kolo Toure, who repeated the feat with Celtic last season before taking on a coaching role at Parkhead.

Ajax

The Dutch side went 52 league games unbeaten while dominating in Europe with the 1995 Champions League trophy. In total they went 69 matches without defeat in the Eredivisie and Champions League during an 18-month spell before losing to Willem II in January 1996.

They also won the Dutch Super Cup twice and the Intercontinental Cup during that spell. The only black mark was an extra-time defeat to Feyenoord in the KNVB Cup quarter-final - their only loss in 75 matches.

Nottingham Forest

Brian Clough's men went 40 games unbeaten in all competitions from March to December in 1978, winning the league, the League Cup and embarking on a run that took them to European Cup triumph the following May.

Juventus

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has tasted defeat in three of his last seven matches but it was an unfamiliar feeling in the 2011-12 season when Juventus went 43 matches unbeaten.

The Turin side won their first title in nine years but had not qualified for Europe the previous season. Defeat came in May at the worst possible time as they lost 2-0 to Napoli in the Coppa Italia final.
