Benjamin Mendy will have his knee injury assessed in Barcelona after he limped off against Crystal Palace, Sky Sports News understands.
The 23-year-old had to be substituted after just 29 minutes of City's 5-0 win over Palace on Saturday before their Champions League clash with Shakhtar Donetsk on Tuesday.
Both Kevin De Bruyne and Vincent Kompany travelled to Barcelona to receive treatment from Dr Ramon Cugat in Barcelona last season.
It is understood it is now standard procedure for Manchester City to have injuries assessed in Catalonia.
Pep Guardiola had said Mendy faced a late fitness test before Tuesday's game, as City go in search of their seventh consecutive win in all competitions, but missed training on Monday.
Manchester City signed Mendy in the summer for £49.2m on a five-year deal and he has made an impressive start at the Etihad, having made five appearances so far this season.
