Mauricio Pochettino hailed "incredible" Harry Kane after the England striker completed a century of goals for the club.
The forward netted twice in his team's 3-0 win at Everton, with the first of the two being the one which gave him his century.
There was a real slice of luck about the goal - the player admitting afterwards it was intended as a cross - but Pochettino was more bothered about the fact he has scored so many.
He said: "It's so important for him. He scored twice for the national team last week and now twice for us.
"That's important for him and also important for the team. It is not important, (whether he meant to) cross or shoot - it was a goal for us.
"I'm happy that he has scored 100 goals for Tottenham. He deserves a lot of praise - congratulations to him. It is an unbelievable mark for him."
Kane's overall display on Merseyside side was excellent and while focus will be on the lucky strike which gave him his ton, the second goal he scored was superbly taken.
Indeed, Tottenham were thoroughly dominant for much of the game after a brief flurry of Everton pressure in the opening exchanges.
With their move out of White Hart Lane and a summer transfer window which only saw them spending money in the closing weeks, it has been an intriguing period for the club.
While results had been indifferent prior to the trip north, Pochettino feels his players are now finding their feet.
He added: "Football is so difficult to enjoy because you are focused on the game and trying to help the team from the side.
"But I feel very pleased. The performance was very good - it was a very solid performance and I think we played very well. I am very pleased for my players.
"Everton is a very good team with good players and they are a team, like all of us, who are trying to build their confidence.
"I think we fully deserved the victory and maybe we had different chances to score more goals but I am so happy as 3-0 is a very good result for us.
"For me, the most important thing today was the performance. We had a solid way which I think is important.
"With our new signings, the squad is different from last season and we need to be positive, try to win games and try to fight for big things."
