Hugo Lloris believes in-demand Monaco striker Kylian Mbappe has the "potential" to play at the top of the game.
The French teenage sensation, who has been the subject of interest from Real Madrid and Manchester City, remains a Monaco player and the French club confirmed earlier this week there would be no more departures.
Lloris is not surprised by Mbappe's demand and believes the 18-year-old has the ability to take his game to the next stage of his career.
"I spent some international break with him, he is very talented, for sure he is very young but he has got a real great potential," Lloris told Sky Sports, ahead of Spurs' pre-season fixture with Manchester City in Nashville.
"It's how it goes in football at the moment, a lot of rumours, a lot of speculation and I don't know what will happen but the most important thing for him is to be focused on himself and his pre-season. Let's see what will happen."
Mbappe, who won Ligue 1 last season, scored in both the last 16 Champions League meetings against Manchester City earlier this year before helping the French club to the Champions League semi-finals.
