Tottenham Hotspur are going places under manager Mauricio Pochettino, according to Phil Babb.
Tottenham's 2-0 win at struggling Burnley on Saturday, coupled with Chelsea's surprise 2-1 home defeat to Crystal Palace, has cut the lead at the top of the Premier League down to just seven points with nine games still to play this season.
And with Spurs having amassed their highest points tally at this stage of the season for 54 years, a first league title since 1961 is still possible for the north London club.
"They are great to watch, great players and the manager has done a fantastic job," the former Liverpool and Republic of Ireland defender told Goals on Sunday.
"Bearing in mind Danny Rose was not playing, arguably the best left-back in the country. [Christian] Eriksen has been key, he is playing at the top of his form, [Dele] Alli has been imperious at times and should have had a couple of goals yesterday.
"But he has got a young side that just seems to be growing and growing in belief and the club are onwards and upwards with a new stadium and tying down those key young players as well."
Next up for Spurs is a trip to relegation-threatened Swansea City on Wednesday night, the same evening that leaders Chelsea host high-flying Man City at Stamford Bridge.
And were the Blues to slip up again in midweek, then the title race could be back on, says Babb.
"They are going places and of course, they still have their eye on closing down the gap between them and Chelsea," he said.
