Manchester United misfit Memphis Depay scored a double for the Netherlands

Memphis Depay came off the bench to score a double for the Netherlands in their 3-1 victory over Luxembourg in Group A of the World Cup Qualifiers

Memphis Depay gave Man Utd fans a reminder of his qualities by scoring a double for the Netherlands.

Depay has played just 20 minutes of Premier League football in four substitute appearances under Jose Mourinho this season, leading to speculation he could be allowed to leave Old Trafford in the new year.

He started his career with PSV Eindhoven and spent just over three years there before signing for United last year.

Depay started on the bench for his country as they took on minnows Luxembourg but was called into action at half-time with his team drawing 1-1.

Arjen Robben gave his team the lead but Maxime Chanot netted a penalty for the hosts a minute before the break.

Depay headed in a Daley Blind cross to give the visitors the lead in the 58th minute before curling home a free-kick to double the lead as the Netherlands ended up winning 3-1.
