Southampton legend Matt Le Tissier explains why his former club are more than capable of beating Chelsea on Super Sunday.

The Saints will be looking to extend their fine run of form when Antonio Conte's men visit St Mary's - live on Sky Sports 1 HD at 4pm - having held Manchester City to a 1-1 draw last weekend.

Here's why Le Tiss is confident his former club claim another major scalp...

Saints can match anyone

Southampton have proved they're absolutely capable of matching any side in the Premier League. We're very solid defensively, with one of the best centre-back pairings in the Premier League, and going forward we create chances, even against the top sides.

Van Dijk can cope for Costa

Virgil van Dijk is the perfect player to deal with Diego Costa. He's got all the right physical attributes to handle him, with strength and pace, and he's also got the right temperament to not get wound up by him.

He's been outstanding all season. Maybe he could have done better for Manchester City's goal in letting Kelechi Iheanacho get the wrong side of him, but you'd be nit picking.

Le Tiss predicts...

Midfield hampers Hazard

Eden Hazard is probably more of a worry for me than Costa and Cuco Martina will have to have a great game to stem his threat. However, he'll have plenty of help. Oriol Romeu, Jordy Clasie and Steven Davis will sit in and protect the full-backs, so he'll get that extra support when Hazard cuts inside onto his right foot.

Redmond's movement

Nathan Redmond's movement will be the biggest problem for Conte's defence if he plays John Terry, David Luiz and Gary Cahill. Dusan Tadic is incredibly skillful and his link-up with Redmond is going to be crucial in causing their defence problems.

It's going to be a tough afternoon for Charlie Austin though, dealing on his own with three at the back unless we press really high and make it three on three. He's going to have to play a very unselfish role in closing down their centre-backs.

Underestimated again

Some might call it an upset if we win, but we've lost one game in the last 10, which was an absolute robbery when we dominated Inter Milan at the San Siro. I hope Chelsea underestimate us as much as the bookies have - 2/1 is a very generous price and I wouldn't have us as outsiders.
