Nico Rosberg moved up to fourth on the all-time F1 consecutive wins list following his sixth successive victory at the Chinese GP and now only trails Sebastian Vettel, Alberto Ascari and Michael Schumacher.
Rosberg's run stretches back to the 2015 Mexican GP and since then he was won the Brazilian GP, the Abu Dhabi GP at the end of last year, before winning the Australian GP, Bahrain GP and the race in Shanghai in 2016.
A seventh consecutive victory at the next race in Russia would move him up to joint second on the list with Schumacher and Ascari.
Vettel holds the record with nine successive victories after an incredible end to the 2013 season saw him win every race after the summer break and march to a fourth world title.
Like Rosberg, second-placed Ascari's run stretches across two seasons. The Italian actually won nine consecutive races that he entered, however, his run is interrupted by skipping the 1953 Indianapolis 500 which was officially the second round of the world championship.
Schumacher also won seven races in succession on his way to a seventh and final world title in 2004. Such was the German's dominance that season the Monaco GP, from which he retired, is the only race in the first 13 he didn't win!
Aside from Rosberg, the other nine drivers who feature at the top of the consecutive win chart have all gone on to win the world title during their run of dominance. Can Rosberg add his name to that list in 2016? History is certainly on his side.
