British GP: Silverstone sends drivers into a spin during practice

Lewis Hamilton, Sebastian Vettel and others struggled to stay on-track during Practice One and Two of the 2017 British GP.

It's one of their favourite tracks on the F1 2017 calendar, but Silverstone certainly sent the drivers into a spin on Friday.

Whether it be Practice One or Practice Two, several of the sport's elite were struggling in the gusty conditions at the British GP - particularly through the high-speed corners.

Lewis Hamilton was lucky to avoid the grass but Sebastian Vettel, Kimi Raikkonen, Max Verstappen, Jolyon Palmer, Carlos Sainz and Felipe Massa weren't as fortunate as they went off at similar parts of the circuit.

A cold, blustery first day of track action certainly wasn't ideal for the drivers, as Sky F1's technical analyst Pat Symonds admitted: "It's like balancing on a tight rope. If someone gives you a little nudge, you tumble into the net."
