Sauber stand-in driver Antonio Giovinazzi crashed out in spectacular fashion during qualifying for the Chinese GP.

The Italian youngster was able to walk away unassisted from the wreckage of his crashed car after hitting the barriers at the final corner in Q1 at Shanghai.

Pushing to secure his progress to Q2, Giovinazzi lost control after running wide and onto the last-corner kerb.
