Pirelli have revealed a 12-hour test of their 2016 tyres will be held at the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday December 1.

However, the test will be carried out behind closed doors with the media barred from attending.

The test follows the season-ending Grand Prix at the venue two days earlier and runs from 9am until 9pm. The test will see the debut of the new ultrasoft compound.

All teams will attend the test, running one car each, but they "will not be allowed to try new parts nor alter the cars in any way during the test," the Italian firm said. "Pirelli will define the test programme for each car".

The test will be held behind closed doors and the tyres will be devoid of markings meaning only Pirelli will know what compound the car is running.

'Pirelli requested the Abu Dhabi session in order to develop a new construction for the 2016 slick tyres as well as to test the new Ultrasoft compound, which will form part of the P Zero F1 range next year.

'The one-day test will take place from 9am-9pm continuously. All teams will attend the test, running one car each, and they will not be allowed to try new parts nor alter the cars in any way during the test.

'Pirelli will define the test programme for each car. The tyres used during this test will not be considered as part of the testing allocation for 2015 and will not show any branding or colour markings to indicate which tyre set is fitted to each car.

'A very full testing program is planned due to the limited amount of time available. The full results will not be available until some days after the test is concluded, as all the data from the teams is collected and analysed.

'For all these reasons Pirelli and the teams have with regret taken the joint decision to keep the test closed to the media. Pirelli will, however, be releasing a full press release at the end of the test.'
