Rob Cross vs Peter Wright

Cross is leading the way, knowing that Van Gerwen has topped the table for the past six years heading into the play-offs.

If Snakebite is ever going to trouble the top four, the time has to be now. He has been lagging behind all season.

Rob Cross defeated Daryl Gurney 8-4, ending it with a 124 checkout on the bull in Premier League from Belfast

The bad news for Wright is that the in-form Cross has a better head-to-head record. Cross has won eight to Wright's five.

On the Premier League stage, Cross won their first meeting last year before they played out a draw, and they drew again earlier this year on Night One.

Gerwyn Price vs Mensur Suljovic

Who expected Suljovic to be third at this stage? If he can fend off sixth-place Price it would be a major boost to his hopes of finishing in the top four.

But Price has won 10 of their 14 meetings including previously in this Premier League campaign.

Last week Price was one dart away from a standout victory over Van Gerwen which would have made the table look very different. He can make partial amends on Thursday.

James Wade vs Daryl Gurney

Arguably the most fascinating match of the night pits the two players who sit joint-fourth against each other.

Wade is ahead via leg difference but this match will have major ramifications for the play-off hunt.

Wade, the Premier League champion 10 years ago, won their previous meeting earlier this season, whitewashing the Northern Irishman 7-0.

Michael Smith vs Michael van Gerwen

Neither player is where they might expect in the league table. This rematch of the 2019 World Darts Championship final seemed likely to have a bigger impact at the top of the table but things haven't panned out for Smith.

He has called his own form "rubbish" so a match against the world No 1 probably arrives at a bad time for Smith, who is bottom of the league.

Van Gerwen is so used to leading the pack that being in second place will feel unfamiliar. He is unusually reliant on other results to go his way, if he is to reclaim top spot.
