Ben Stokes jokes about 'obstructing the field' with George Bailey

Watch a lighthearted moment between Ben Stokes and George Bailey

Ben Stokes wasn't laughing when he was given out 'obstructing the field' in England's second one-day international defeat to Australia.

But the all-rounder did see the funny side when he was given the chance to possibly re-create the moment during Australia's innings in the fourth one-dayer at Headingley.

Stokes fielded the ball off his bowling and - just for a moment - thought about shying at George Bailey's wicket, much as Mitchell Starc did at Lord's prompting Stokes to stick out his hand and block the return throw in what he said was an unintentional reaction.

This time, though, the ball stayed firmly in the bowler's hands - Stokes feigning to throw before breaking out into a chuckle. Bailey, amused, grinned back. Click on the video at the top of the page to see the light-hearted moment.

Ben Stokes and England were less than happy with his dismissal for 'obstructing the field'

The 'Stokes Shy' comes fast on the heels of the 'Stokes Salute' of April, when West Indian Marlon Samuels stood to attention following the all-rounder's dismissal in the second Test - Stokes swiftly making light of the incident and giving Samuels a taste of his own medicine in the same game. A playful Joe Root subsequently made light of the incident back on home turf in the first Test of the summer by saluting Stokes from the Lord's balcony after the all-rounder's rapid ton against New Zealand.
