There are have now been TWO double centurions in the second Test at Cape Town.

Following Ben Stokes' brutal 258 from 198 balls for England, South Africa captain Hashim Amla notched 201 on day four at Newlands, from a slightly more sedate 477 deliveries.

Stuart Broad finally dismissed the right-hander in the second session, clean bowling him with an absolute corker, and England had three wickets in 10 balls when Faf du Plessis (86) snicked behind and Quinton de Kock (5) clipped to square leg.

That left the hosts teetering on 449-6 and trailing England by 180 runs but a maiden Test ton from Temba Bavuma (102no) - and a whopping 10 dropped catches across the innings - helped South Africa all-but wipe out the tourists' advantage before Amla declared on 627-7.

England, with a slender two-run lead on first innings, safely navigated a potentially tricky six-over spell before the close to extend their advantage to 18, with Alastair Cook eight not out and Alex Hales unbeaten on five.
