Ben Stokes will appear before Bristol Magistrates' Court on Tuesday, February 13 to answer charges of affray following an incident outside a Bristol nightclub on September 25 last year.

The Durham and England all-rounder's appearance in court will come at the same time as England take on New Zealand in the first T20 match at the Westpac stadium in Wellington.

Stokes missed this winter's Ashes series after being suspended from playing for England but has been cleared to play for England in the T20 series in New Zealand, live on Sky Sports.

It is hoped that Stokes will fly to New Zealand after the court hearing, and could potentially make his return to international cricket on Sunday, February 18, when England take on New Zealand in the second T20 match at Seddon Park in Hamilton.

Two other men, Ryan Hale and Ryan Ali, who were also charged with affray for the same incident, will also appear before Magistrates on the same day.

Stokes has also made himself available to play in this year's Indian Premier League after the ECB had given him permission to do so.
