Stuart Broad has been called up to the England squad for their five-match one-day series in South Africa.
Broad will replace Liam Plunkett for the series against South Africa which starts with a day-night match in Bloemfontein on February 3.
The 29-year-old rose to No 1 in the Test bowling rankings after his six-wicket haul in Johannesburg last week, but has not featured in a limited-overs squad since last year's World Cup.
Plunkett was initially called-up to the squad earlier this week after Steven Finn suffered a side strain ahead of the fourth and final Test at Centurion.
However, Plunkett suffered a thigh injury after playing two matches for the England Lions in the UAE and has now been ruled out following a scan.
The Yorkshire seamer will remain with the England T20 squad for the two-match series against South Africa provided he recovers from his current injury.
Broad, who has been eager to return to England's limited-overs side since the summer, will feature in the five-match one-day series, but has not been included for the two Twenty20s against the Proteas.
Speaking after his stunning 6-17 sealed the Test series for England at the Wanderers, Broad said: "I'm desperate to play white-ball cricket again for England.
"You have a short career and I'm not going to play until I'm 37 or 38, so I want to play as much cricket as I possibly can.
"My consistency has got better with the red ball probably through playing more exclusively red-ball cricket, but we don't know what is going to happen over the next few months with injuries or loss of form.
"Anything can happen to get a call-up, so I want to be ready to play white-ball cricket."
