Middlesex's 23-year wait for a County Championship title is over - and they sealed the win in a remarkable fashion.
With six overs and one ball remaining, Middlesex still needed four wickets for victory while Yorkshire still had faint hopes of retaining their crown, needing 66 to win.
However, Roland-Jones put Middlesex firmly in the driving seat as he had Azeem Rafiq caught behind off the final ball of the 34th over - the Yorkshire spinner top-edging a banged in delivery straight up to give John Simpson a simple catch.
Steven Finn bowled Steven Patterson with the last ball of the following over to move the host to within two wickets of the title at Lord's with five overs to get them.
As it was, they needed only two balls. Roland-Jones first bowled Andrew Hodd to secure a five-wicket haul but he was not done there.
With a hat-trick ball to give him 10 wickets in the match and, more importantly, wrap up a dramatic championship victory, the seamer ran in and bowled Ryan Sidebottom behind his legs, knocking leg stump out of the ground.
