Highlights from Sharjah as England thrashed Scotland by 10 wickets in the Women's T20 World Cup

How can England make sure of a semi-final place at the ICC Women's T20 World Cup? Here is all you need to know.

England - hunting a first T20 World Cup title since the inaugural edition on home soil in 2009 - are in a good position to make the last four after thumping Scotland by 10 wickets in Sharjah on Sunday.

That win, in which they chased down a target of 110 in just 10 overs, pumped their net run-rate up to a healthy +1.716 and moved them top of the pool, ahead of South Africa (+1.382) on NRR.

If England beat West Indies in Dubai on Tuesday - live on Sky Sports Cricket from 3pm - then net run-rate will be a moot issue as Heather Knight's side will qualify as group winners with South Africa advancing in second place and West Indies knocked out.

However, if West Indies win and join England and South Africa on six points, then NRR will become a factor. West Indies will progress on NRR, leaving England and South Africa duking it out.

England's strong net run-rate advantage over South Africa means they have some margin for error but would ideally like to beat West Indies and progress as group winners as they would then likely avoid title-favourites Australia in the semi-finals.

The other two sides in Group B, Scotland and Bangladesh, are eliminated.

Pakistan had a slim chance but fell to the second lowest score in the T20 World Cup's 25-year history after being dismissed by the Kiwi's for a record-low 56.
