South Africa's Dean Elgar took an incredible catch to dismiss Tim Paine on day three of the fourth Test against Australia

Dean Elgar took a remarkable full-length diving catch on day three of the fourth Test between South Africa and Australia.

The Proteas have compounded a miserable week for Australia, dominated by the ball-tampering scandal, by seizing control of the Test in Johannesburg.

Tim Paine and Pat Cummins had offered some resistance on the third morning but after the latter's dismissal, another two wickets fell quickly and the stand-in Aussie skipper went on the attack.

He attempted to smash a Kagiso Rabada delivery back over the bowler's head and although he mistimed the shot, he looked to have got away with it as the ball sailed high over mid off.

However, Elgar turned, sprinted and then flung himself forwards as the ball dropped over his shoulder to take a truly stunning catch to the astonishment of those watching on at the Wanderers, as well as the man himself!
