Australia vice-captain David Warner and South Africa wicket-keeper Quinton de Kock have been fined over their clash during the first Test in Durban.
The players were charged following the match after CCTV footage from the players' tunnel at Kingsmead on Sunday showed Warner and De Kock embroiled in a fiery exchange as the players climbed the stairs to their dressing rooms.
De Kock contested his charge for a Level 1 breach, which carried with it a maximum of a 50 per cent fine and two demerit points, and his sanction is a 25 per cent fine and one demerit point.
Warner was given a Level 2 breach of the ICC's code of conduct for bringing the game into disrepute, which can warrant up to four demerit points and a subsequent automatic suspension for one Test.
But he has also escaped a ban after being given three demerit points, meaning he faces a fine of 75 per cent of his match fee but can feature in the second Test, which starts on Friday, live on Sky Sports Cricket.
South Africa team manager Mohammed Moosajee said on Monday Warner had engaged in a personal verbal attack against De Kock on the pitch that involved members of his family, but Australia wicketkeeper Tim Paine called the claim "100 per cent false".
Australia won the opening Test of the four-match series by 118 runs.
