Pakistan defeated West Indies by 56 runs to triumph in the day-night Test in Dubai, despite a superb century from Darren Bravo.
A fine match produced a tense final day, which began with the West Indies on 95-2, needing 346 for victory after Devendra Bishoo had taken eight wickets to bowl Pakistan out for 123 on day four.
But Pakistan made the perfect start to the final day, Mohammad Amir (3-63) having Marlon Samuels (4) caught behind with the very first ball.
And it was 116-4 when Jermaine Blackwood (15) fell lbw to debutant Mohammad Nawaz.
But Bravo, who had batted for over six hours for 87 in the West Indies first innings, was still there and the classy left-hander added 77 for the fifth wicket with Roston Chase (35).
Chase was eventually bowled by Yasir Shah (2-113) and Wahab Riaz (1-47) then bowled Shane Dowrich for a golden duck.
But Bravo found another willing partner in the form of West Indies captain Jason Holder and the pair saw off the second new ball, reaching dinner at 232-6, with Bravo having compiled a fine century from 211 balls.
The West Indies still needed another 114 to secure their first away win against a major Test nation since December 2007.
And their hopes were dealt a hammer blow when Shah returned to the attack and took a fantastic two-handed return catch to dismiss Bravo for 116, after 410 minutes of resistance.
Bishoo (3) then became a second lbw victim of the day for Nawaz (2-32) and the innings fell apart as the last two in the order, Miguel Cummins (1) and Shannon Gabriel (1), were both run out.
The final wicket of an absorbing contest fell with just 12 overs left in the match, as Pakistan triumphed in the second ever day-night Test and went 1-0 up in the three-match series.
