Afghanistan earned a shock two-wicket win over Bangladesh in the second one-day international in Dhaka to level the series 1-1.
Three days on after Bangladesh edged to a seven-run win in the opening game of the series, Bangladesh were again troubled by the Afghans, being bowled out for 208 in 49.2 overs after being put into bat first.
Bangladesh had got off to a reasonable start, reaching 111-2 in the 25th - Tamim Iqbal (20), Soumya Sarkar (20), Mahmudullah (25) and Mushfiqur Rahim (38) all getting starts - but then proceeded to lose their next five wickets for 30 runs.
Mosaddek Hossain struck an unbeaten 45 on his ODI debut to help Bangladesh to a total of some respectability, but Afghanistan looked to be cruising to victory at 170-4 with more than 10 overs remaining of their chase.
The visitors lost set batsmen, Asghar Stanikzai (57) and Mohammad Nabi (49), within an over of each other and lost a further wicket - Rashif Khan (5) to Shakib-al-Hasan (4-47) as they suddenly seemed to be heading for defeat.
But Najibullah Zadran (22) played a vital hand in securing a win for Afghanistan, though he did fall in the final over with the scores level.
Bangladesh face Afghanistan in the deciding ODI on Saturday, before then taking on England in a three-match series, starting on Friday, October 7.
