One man dominated the Sunday newspaper headlines after his career-best 254 – Joe Root.
Root's incredible 614-minute knock generated plenty of debate from our guest panel on Sunday morning's Cricket Writers on TV special from Emirates Old Trafford.

Broadcaster Alison Mitchell, Sunday Times journalist Simon Wilde and Saj Sadiq - the editor of Pakistani cricket website PakPassion - joined Paul Allott ahead of the third day of the second Test, but Root was not the only topic of discussion.
Among the other subjects debated were how Alex Hales, James Vince and Gary Ballance sit in England's batting pecking order, as well as the resurgence of Warwickshire all-rounder Chris Woakes.
Pakistan's approach - how the focus is on playing hard to win cricket matches and win friends - was also discussed, in addition to the impact made by their inspirational captain Misbah-ul-Haq.
There was also a bit of chat about the pros and cons of potentially having four-day rather than five-day Test matches.
