Watch a pick of the action from day two of the second Test between Pakistan and England

Joe Root starred as England ended the day 182-3 after Mark Wood did the damage with the ball to bowl Pakistan out for 378.

Wood ended with figures of 3-39 as the tourists took the final six Pakistan wickets in the opening session. The Durham seamer caught Shafiq flush on the knee, sending the batsman tumbling to the floor before having him caught later that over to wrap up the innings.

Alastair Cook continued his fine form as he moved past 50, but only after the luckiest of escapes earlier in his innings. His attempted sweep came off his pads and rolled back to his the base of the stumps at a decent pace. However, the bails were unmoved and the skipper survived.

Cook eventually fell for 65 but Root remained and rarely looked troubled as he and Jonny Bairstow saw England through to the close.
