David Haye has hit back at Tony Bellew by insisting he would welcome a huge domestic clash if his British rival is "genuinely serious".
The former two-weight world champion is still considering a variety of options for his next bout, including a grudge fight against Bellew, the WBC cruiserweight champion.
Bellew became involved in a heated confrontation with Haye at ringside after his third-round stoppage of BJ Flores and has suggested he would take the fight at heavyweight.
But the 36-year-old Londoner has questioned whether 'The Bomber' is truly interested in sharing the ring with him.
Asked about the Liverpudlian's verbal challenge, Haye told Sky Sports News HQ: "If Bellew is genuinely serious about it?
"It's one thing saying a thing after your fight when your adrenaline is flowing - you're all excited and you have just knocked someone out.
"If he can sit down and think to himself 'okay, I've got a shot at actually getting out of the ring in one piece against David Haye'.
"If he genuinely believes that, and his promoter believes it, then we could make something happen."
