Glenn McCrory picks his current top 10 heavyweights

By Glenn McCrory, Boxing Expert & Columnist

Three of the Sky Sports team have already come up with their heavyweight top 10s - next up is Glenn McCrory.

He is known for pulling no punches and as ever, he doesn't play it safe - especially when it comes to David Haye!

See if you agree with McCrory's list...

10: Charles Martin - 23-0-1-KO21

You cannot ignore a world title and although he was gifted it, a world title is a world title. We barely knew who he was before Saturday night but at least he is one others will aim for. He is young, so let's see if he has the same hunger as the next two on my list.

9: Joseph Parker - 17-0-KO15

Parker hails from New Zealand and I've heard a lot of good things from my friends down in that part of the world. I have also seen him work out and boy, does he throw a lot of punches. I haven't seen him fight in the flesh but as soon as I watched a clip of him training, I honestly thought I was watching a middleweight. Boy, does he punch fast!

8: Anthony Joshua - 15-0-KO15

I thought I was being a bit outrageous putting AJ in here, but I am not the first, I see! He is undefeated, he is young and he is hungry. If you are looking at those who missed out on this list, Joshua would beat them all. He is on the up. Parker is not dissimilar, but he didn't win the OIympic gold.

7: Bermane Stiverne - 25-2-1-KO21

There is nothing spectacular about this guy but he is your good, solid, top 10 fighter - and a former world champion. It would be nice to see him get right back in the mix because he hasn't done a lot wrong and he is a good test for those coming through.

6: Luis Ortiz - 24-0-KO21

He is 24-0, has a good reputation and looks the part but no one knows more about Cubans than me, so I hope he trains hard. He hasn't had that real test yet but he does look the real deal, so we will have to wait and see if he lives up to it.

5: David Haye - 27-2-KO25

He is going straight in! You can't argue with a former world heavyweight champion, even after one fight back - and he looked sensational. David has always been a wild card in this division. Speed and power bust people up and he has both in abundance. He is smart and experienced as well.

4: Alexander Povetkin - 30-1-KO22

He is decent but was tamed by Wladimir Klitschko. Had he beaten him, then we could call him great and unbeatable. He is very good at what he does, he has a nice style and is a decent puncher, so he is probably the top of the 'tried, tested and failed' heavyweights.

3: Deontay Wilder - 36-0-KO35

One of the top dogs. He is unbeaten in 36 fights and, although he hasn't fought the right guys yet, he is the WBC world champion. That title still has to mean something and carry some weight and, while we don't know if he can beat Povetkin, he has to go in the top three.

2: Wladimir Klitschko - 64-4-KO53

Styles make fights and Tyson Fury had the Kryptonite that Wladimir couldn't handle. Klitschko is a cautious fighter, and we have repeatedly criticised him for that. All of a sudden, throw a wild card like Fury into the mix that he can't work out, and he was done. He won't be No 1 again.

1: Tyson Fury - 25-0-KO18

Image: Linear champion Tyson Fury is the only choice for No 1

I like Tyson. He brings something different to the game. He's a character and despite people wanting to bring him down, he's actually a decent, funny guy. In the ring, who else can there be at No 1? He beat the man, he is the lineal heavyweight champion of the world. End of story.
