Anthony Joshua's proposed unification clash with Joseph Parker will be discussed at a meeting on Tuesday afternoon as both teams attempt to "solve any outstanding issues", says promoter Eddie Hearn.

David Higgins, who promotes the New Zealander, has flown into London to conclude negotiations for the WBO title holder to face Joshua, the WBA 'super' and IBF champion, at a British venue in either March or April.

Hearn has held lengthy talks with Higgins about the purse split for the heavyweight fight, with Parker believed to have accepted 'between 30 and 35 per cent', although they are yet to formally agree a venue or date.

"David Higgins landed this morning and we are meeting this afternoon to plough through the agreement and solve any outstanding issues," Hearn exclusively told Sky Sports.

"If we can do that then it's likely Joseph Parker will jump on a plane towards the end of this week. Fingers crossed."

Higgins expects to hold another meeting with Hearn on Wednesday morning to 'iron out the final details' and is optimistic that a deal will be finalised.

"There's no deal yet, but we have a draft contract going over and back, and some of the big tricky things have been agreed, which is promising," Higgins told Sky Sports.

"I think it's also fair to say that Eddie Hearn and I both have a will to try and make a deal, which counts for something.

We have both set aside quite a bit of time today, tomorrow to iron out the final details.

"Sometimes people don't want to make a deal and it's obvious, and they use excuses, but from my experience this is a case where it appears both sides actually want to try and make a deal. That counts for a lot.

"We have both set aside quite a bit of time, today, tomorrow to iron out the final details. Again, nothing until the contracts are signed."

Parker could finally come face to face with Joshua next week after instigating a verbal battle with his fellow champion in recent months.

Joshua was unhappy with a press conference from Parker and his promotional team, who repeatedly questioned the 28-year-old's chin after he suffered the first knockdown of his professional career in the April win over Wladimir Klitschko.

Both men have undefeated records, with Joshua holding 20 victories all by knockout, while Parker has 18 stoppages in his 24 wins.
