Luke Campbell would love the chance to fight Jorge Linares for a second time

Luke Campbell has called for Jorge Linares to hand him a rematch following their closely-fought lightweight showdown.

Venezuela's Linares dropped Campbell on the way to claiming a split decision victory last month as he made the second successful defence of his WBA world title in California.

The Hull southpaw feels he did enough to take the title home and now hopes he will be given another chance to take on the skilful South American.

Speaking exclusively to Sky Sports, Campbell said: "I haven't watched the fight back yet, I like to wait for the emotions and everything to settle before I do that, but I felt like I won the fight.

"From round two he didn't really land a clean shot on me and I thought for most rounds I completely outclassed him, made him miss and landed a lot more.

"Everyone is saying that the knockdown was key, but even with that, I thought I definitely won seven rounds.

"It was a close fight and I was fighting the number one in the division, someone on the pound-for-pound list, over in the US on his show - it was all set up for him to win.

"Now I want a rematch, preferably in the UK. Our first fight was exciting and everyone seemed to enjoy it and that's the main thing.

"I'd love the opportunity to go in there and beat him properly. He is due to fight Mikey Garcia and I just want to make sure I'm in the mix with these guys."
