Gennady Golovkin and Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez came face-to-face at their pre-fight press conference in Las Vegas

Gennady Golovkin believes his fight with Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez on Saturday night will be one of the biggest in boxing history.

The two fighters came face to face at the pre-fight press conference in Las Vegas on Wednesday ahead of what is one of the most highly-anticipated fights of the year.

"This is the biggest fight for us and for boxing. It's a historic fight and I don't believe it is the last for us."

Alvarez, who is a three-weight world champion, has lost just once since turning professional in 2005 - a majority points decision defeat to Floyd Mayweather four years ago.

"I have nothing to say to [Golovkin]," said the 27-year-old Mexican. "They know what kind of fighter I am.
