David Haye is expecting to make his return from injury in December in what would be his first fight under Ismael Salas' tutelage.

Haye (28-3-KO26) has been sidelined since March, when he suffered a serious Achilles injury during his heavyweight clash with Tony Bellew.

Bellew eventually stopped Haye in the 11th round, with the Bermondsey fighter unable to move properly because of the injury he had suffered earlier in the fight.

He has since teamed up with Cuban trainer Salas and is plotting a December return against an opponent still to be determined.

"I will be back in the ring in December, who that will be against, I don't know," Haye said.

Bellew remains open to a rematch with his old rival, but said last week there was as much chance of him fighting pound-for-pound champion Andre Ward.

WBC Cruiserweight Champion Tony Bellew says he has a choice between David Haye and Andre Ward

"I like the thought of going in with the pound-for-pound king of the world, I really do, but I am not foolish or stupid enough to know there isn't unfinished business with David Haye," Bellew told Sky Sports News HQ.
