Adrien Broner admits a number of boxing fans will be "coming to see me lose" when he faces Adrian Granados this weekend.
The American has attracted controversy throughout his career and believes his critics will be hoping he slips up against the unheralded Granados in his hometown of Cincinnati.
A four-weight world champion, Broner will be expected to make short work of Granados to pave the way for possible fights against other super-lightweight rivals such as WBA 'super' champion Ricky Burns.
"I love fighting in Cincinnati. I know that I have a lot of people coming to see me win, but even in my home city, there will be people coming to see me lose," said Broner.
"I handle the pressure of a hometown fight here. This one is a whole different level, because I haven't fought here in a long time and I can't wait.
"I know that Granados is not coming in here to back down. He's a tough guy but I'm ready for anything he has."
Broner was restricted to just one bout last year, which saw 'The Problem' spend a brief spell in prison, and he intends to fight more often in 2017.
"I could box every two weeks if they let me," he said. "But if I can stay healthy, I'm looking forward to staying more active this year, and fighting as many times in big fights as possible.
"I know that these young fighters look up to me. If I go and keep winning world titles, it'll remind them that they have more work to do.
"I don't want to do anything but bring out the best Adrien Broner. There are some fights you can win, but not with a great performance. With a guy like Granados, I can't slack. He's only going to bring the best out of me.
"My main focus right now is on Adrien Broner and bringing more positivity in my life. It all starts with boxing."
