The British Boxing Board of Control has ruled that Dillian Whyte's fight with Dereck Chisora will still go ahead after their news conference bust-up.
An emergency meeting was called by the board on Thursday after Chisora hurled a table at Whyte on Wednesday afternoon and it decided to allow the heavyweight fight to remain on the undercard of Anthony Joshua's IBF title defence on Saturday night.
Chisora has received a £25,000 fine following the ugly scenes at the news conference and an additional £5,000 in costs. He has also been handed a suspended two-year sentence which if broken will result in an immediate ban without a hearing.
The British title, currently held by Whyte, will no longer be on the line at the Manchester Arena but the bout will still act as an eliminator for the WBC title.
Both fighters will still weigh in at the Victoria Warehouse in Manchester on Friday but will do so at separate times and there will be no customary face-off between the two fighters.
"In some parts I kind of regret that but sometimes when you have two guys in the same room things can go off, so I kind of regret it," Chisora told Sky Sports News HQ.
"It's a big fight for him, it's a big fight for me and it's a great bill for the fans. We are weighing in separately, which is good and we'll see how it goes.
"I can't wait for the fight. I know I have more power than this guy."
Promoter Eddie Hearn added: "I think the Board have been very strict and harsh with their actions and rightly so. We can't see that in the build up to fights.
"It's a lot of money [the fine] and of course with the two-year suspended sentence if he does anything wrong again he is out of the sport. It's a warning to him and other fighters as well.
"We were in the hearing for three hours and I'm pleased for the 21,000 fight fans in Manchester Arena on Saturday night - and everybody tuning in around the world - that they get the opportunity to see this fight."
