Jake Ball's unbeaten record was ruined by a brutal first-round knockout at the hands of JJ McDonagh at Wembley Arena on Saturday.
The light-heavyweight prospect was put down twice by the Irishman known as 'Slick' in a blistering and brutal opening to the vacant WBA InternationaI title at Wembley Arena on Saturday night.
Ball was expected to make it seven stoppage wins out of seven and he dominated McDonagh from the start but in a sensational turnaround, the 24-year-old found himself in trouble.
A big right hand had Ball staggering back onto the ropes and although he survived, a left did even more damage, and the Surrey fighter known as 'The Blade' was sent over the ropes.
Ball made the count and tried to cling on, only for McDonagh to deliver a devastating right hand that left him flat on his back, with the referee ignoring the count.
